Il Pastaio is on track to close 2025 with solid momentum, reaffirming its leadership position in Italy’s fresh pasta and gnocchi market. The group—founded in Brescia in 1983 and now one of the major players in the mass market retail—expects to generate around €95 million in revenue next year, supported by a strategy that combines innovation, increased manufacturing capacity, and growing international reach.
U.S. INVESTMENT MARKS A KEY MILESTONE
The centrepiece of the company’s current growth plan is the launch of its first production facility in the United States. The plant, now in the final stages of construction in Allenwood, Pennsylvania, sits within the Great Stream Commons Business Park and will begin operations in the first weeks of 2026.

Covering 6,600 sq m, the site will house five production lines dedicated to traditional, filled, gluten-free, and organic gnocchi. The investment is designed to strengthen Il Pastaio’s foothold in the North American market, shorten delivery times for customers, and elevate the profile of Italian fresh pasta abroad by positioning products for greater competitiveness.
SCALING CAPACITY ACROSS THE GROUP
Il Pastaio today employs about 300 people and operates four plants in Italy, including one dedicated to gluten-free production. The group also controls Canuti Tradizione Italiana, a brand specializing in frozen fresh pasta production for the foodservice industry. Once the U.S. plant comes online, Il Pastaio’s total output across pasta and gnocchi will rise to 100,000 tonnes per year, marking a significant expansion of its global production footprint.

DOMESTIC MARKET STRENGTHENS UNDER THE PATARÒ BRAND
The company continues to perform strongly in Italy, driven by its flagship brand Patarò, which is recording double-digit growth and is currently the only brand in its category outperforming the market average by a wide margin. Patarò has increased its presence nationwide, with particularly robust results in North-West Italy and the South.
