Charlotte-Based Peruvian-Inspired Restaurant Honors Its Heritage with an Authentic Family Feast on Tuesday, July 28
Charlotte, NC (RestaurantNews.com) For one day, VIVA Chicken, the Carolinas’ Peruvian-inspired restaurant, invites its guests to celebrate Peru in a way only the award-winning rotisserie chicken brand can.
In honor of Peruvian Independence Day on Tuesday, July 28, VIVA Chicken will celebrate the country’s rich culinary heritage with its popular VIVA Feast – a generous family meal inspired by the authentic flavors, traditions and hospitality that have defined Peru for generations and VIVA Chicken since its founding.
Peru declared its independence on July 28, 1821, launching a celebration that remains one of the nation’s most cherished holidays. Traditionally marked by family gatherings, national pride and extraordinary cuisine, the occasion offers a fitting opportunity for Charlotte-based VIVA Chicken to honor the country that inspired its recipes, culture and identity.

The VIVA Feast ($36 – $7 and change per serving) feeds up to five people, including two whole charcoal-fired chickens, Peruvian fried rice, green beans, French fries, fried plantains and VIVA’s signature fresh-made sauces. Whether guests are celebrating their Peruvian heritage or simply discovering one of the world’s most celebrated culinary traditions, the VIVA Feast offers an authentic way to gather around the table.
“Everything about VIVA Chicken begins with Peru,” said Sharyn Knight, director of marketing for VIVA Chicken. “Our recipes, cooking techniques and passion for hospitality are inspired by Peruvian culture, making Independence Day especially meaningful for our team. We’re proud to celebrate our heritage while inviting everyone to experience the warmth, flavor and generosity that define both Peru and VIVA Chicken.”

At the heart of every VIVA Feast is VIVA Chicken’s signature Pollo a la Brasa – fresh, all-natural chicken marinated for more than 24 hours in a traditional Peruvian spice blend before being slow-roasted over open flames in custom charcoal rotisserie ovens. The result is juicy, flavorful chicken paired with fresh, made-daily sides and signature sauces inspired by generations of Peruvian cooking.

For co-founder Chef Bruno Macchiavello, Peru’s Independence Day is deeply personal. Born and raised in Peru, Bruno brought his country’s culinary traditions to Charlotte with the vision of sharing authentic Pollo a la Brasa and the spirit of Peruvian hospitality with American guests. More than a decade later, every VIVA Chicken restaurant continues to celebrate that heritage through recipes, ingredients and experiences rooted in Peru’s rich culinary culture. His vision transformed a beloved Peruvian tradition into one of the region’s most distinctive restaurant brands.
Throughout the year, VIVA Chicken’s customizable catering options, featuring fresh ingredients and wholesome, vibrant produce prepped daily, bring Peruvian rotisserie chicken and more to any event, delighting guests during holidays, parties and beyond. VIVA Chicken’s customizable eGift Cards allow guests to send the gift of VIVA Chicken year-round.
VIVA Chicken’s Insider reward system allows guests to earn points toward rewards, including a birthday treat and free VIVA Chicken, while receiving early access to specials and exclusive offers. Prospective team members may find opportunities on VIVA Chicken’s LinkedIn. At the same time, we encourage all current and future fans of VIVA Chicken to stay up to date with the brand on Facebook and Instagram.
The one-day, $36 VIVA Feast will be available for carry-out and online ordering on Tuesday, July 28, at all participating VIVA Chicken locations.
