Popular Northeastern sports bar brings great food and game-day energy to its first Southeast location
Tampa, FL (RestaurantNews.com) The Greene Turtle, a Maryland-based sports bar chain with nearly 30 locations across the Mid-Atlantic, will open its first-ever Florida restaurant on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 5224 Bridge St., marking the brand’s debut in the Southeast as it approaches its 50th anniversary in 2026.
Founded in 1976 in Ocean City, Maryland, The Greene Turtle has built its reputation as an all-ages neighborhood hangout where sports, community and casual dining come together. The new Tampa location will carry on that tradition with a spacious bar, an expansive patio and more than 20 HD televisions for watching the season’s biggest games.
In honor of its grand opening, The Greene Turtle will treat guests who sign up for the loyalty program to a free appetizer and kick things off with exciting happy hour specials. Additional promotions and celebrations will be announced in the weeks following the opening, giving Tampa residents plenty of reasons to stop by and join in the fun.
