All-day breakfast, craft cocktails and an “always open” attitude arrive with a charity preview benefiting flood relief ahead of key-cutting celebration
Houston, TX (RestaurantNews.com) Memorial City just got a taste of something that never sleeps. Katz’s, Houston’s industry leader in 24/7 upscale dining, opened its doors – permanently – at 10321 Katy Freeway on Tuesday, Sept. 2, bringing its signature around-the-clock service to West Houston and Katy.
In the days leading up to the official opening, Katz’s Memorial City location hosted a Charity Day on Sunday, Aug. 31, open to the public. The event served as a “practice run” as staff trained and refined operations, with 100% of the day’s revenue donated to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund – which supports relief and rebuilding efforts following the devastating July 4 flood.
On opening day, Katz’s hosted a symbolic “key-cutting” ceremony at 11 a.m., tossing the keys – and maybe the lock – to honor its round-the-clock commitment to serving the community day and night.
“It’s a dream come true to bring our upscaled 24-hour dining experience to a fifth Houston-area location,” said Barry Katz, owner of the restaurant that shares his name. “We strive to be the industry leader in food quality, service and ambiance, and are excited to Never Klose our doors again!”
The new location features Katz’s signature menu of comfort classics, all-day breakfast, handcrafted cocktails and famous desserts, including the debut of the Monthly Signature Slice – Lemon Italian Crème Cake for September – and new “Sun-kissed Sips” summer cocktails like the Vodka Cherry Limeade, Sangria Swirl Margarita, Mango Pineapple Punch and Key Lime Martini, and of course, the best milkshake in Houston.
Katz’s Memorial City location is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, serving everything from late-night Reubens to brunch with mimosas, and everything in between.
