Eataly Debuts at Toronto's CF Eaton Centre

A major new culinary destination has arrived in Toronto with the opening of Eataly’s latest location—a 25,000-sq.-ft. Italian grocery and dining complex at CF Toronto Eaton Centre. The global marketplace, which first entered Canada in 2019 with Eataly Yorkville, welcomed its first customers on November 25.

The new site, roughly half the size of Eataly’s Bloor Street flagship and comparable to its Sherway Gardens location, spans two floors and is directly accessible from inside the shopping centre. This latest launch becomes Eataly’s fourth Toronto location, and its second in the downtown core.

In an official statement announcing the launch, the company said: “Ciao Eataly Eaton Centre! Welcome to the Eataly family! Located in the heart of the city at CF Toronto Eaton Centre, our newest Eataly spans two levels and 25,000+ square feet, featuring two full-service restaurants, La Pizza & La Pasta and La Piazza; quick-service counters for espresso, pastries, gelato, and Roman-style pizza alla pala; and a vibrant marketplace stocked with fresh pasta, salumi & formaggi, produce, and hundreds of Made-in-Italy favorites – including over 500 wine labels. Congrats to our #Eatalian Team on a successful fourth opening in the wonderful city of Toronto.”

Tommaso Brusò, CEO of Eataly North America, described the opening as a continuation of the brand’s Canadian expansion. “Eataly Eaton Centre is a continuation of our story in Canada, cementing our appreciation for the community we’ve built here since first opening Eataly Yorkville in 2019,” Brusò said. “As an icon of the city and a premier destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment, we are excited to bring a taste of Italy to CF Toronto Eaton Centre’s impressive roster of retailers, just in time for the holiday season.”

A TWO-LEVEL MARKETPLACE OF RESTAURANTS, COUNTERS, AND ITALIAN ESSENTIALS

The main floor houses Il Gran Caffè, serving illycaffè espresso beverages from lattes to specialty drinks; La Pasticceria and Il Gelato counters; and the large Pizza alla Pala station offering ready-made sandwiches and Roman-style pizza slices. The area also features grab-and-go meals and Eataly-branded sauces and spreads, along with ample seating for downtown workers and shoppers.

An elevator or escalator leads visitors to the second level, where the marketplace expands into produce, dry goods, fresh pasta, cheeses—including fresh mozzarella—bread, and an extensive selection of wines. The upper floor is also home to two restaurants. La Pizza & La Pasta, an Eataly signature spot seating 190 guests, serves Neapolitan pizza and artisanal pasta. Eataly partnered with Naples-based pizza experts Rossopomodoro to craft pies using “generations-old techniques.” Pasta options are prepared using both fresh pasta and dried pasta sourced from Gragnano, a renowned hilltop town near Napoli.

Next door, La Piazza, a 50-seat bar and restaurant, offers lighter dishes paired with Italian wines and cocktails.

A FOCUS ON ITALIAN PRODUCTS—AND HUNDREDS OF WINES

Like its other locations, Eataly Eaton Centre highlights imported, Made-in-Italy products such as extra-virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, artisanal pasta, and tomatoes. A significant share of the space is devoted to Eataly Vino e Birra To-Go, showcasing hundreds of Italian wines from across the country. Though the section is smaller than the wine department at Eataly Yorkville, its selection remains sizeable.

With 18 stores now operating in North America and more than 60 globally, Eataly’s newest Toronto addition underscores the brand’s accelerating expansion—and the city’s appetite for Italian cuisine in all its forms.
